Cashier | Great Falls MT Air National Guard Job Category: Food Preparation Requisition Number: CASHI002682 Posted: April 25, 2024 Part-Time Locations 164 - Great Falls ANG 2800 AIRPORT AVENUE B Great Falls, MT 59404, USA Hourly Rate: $17.20 Schedule: one weekend a month POSITION SUMMARY: The Cashier performs cashiering duties, including making cash transactions, verifying cash drawer, giving change, counting cash receipts, and completing cash reports. May also perform general food service work. Maintains sanitation standards in the service and dining room area. Responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Verify cash at beginning of shift. Operate cash register, receive cash from customers or employees in payment for goods or services, and record amounts received. Compute or re-compute bills, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due using adding machine or cash register, make change, cash checks, and issue receipts or tickets to customers. Control, organize, monitor, and maintain cash levels in drawer. Prepare reports of transactions, read and record totals shown on cash register tape, and verify against cash on hand. May make credit card transactions and may be required to know value and features of items for which money is received. May give cash refunds or issue credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise, operate ticket-dispensing machine. Complete customer purchases by scanning merchandise or inputting price into register quickly and accurately. Ensure all items are input into cash registers and menu boards. Ensure facility opens 15 minutes prior to meal open. Ensure facility is secure at close of meal. Comply with energy conservation and recycling programs. Comply with appropriate Food Handlers Safety Components. Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training. Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures. Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner. Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments. Attend training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated. Other tasks as may be directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor. Pass and maintain any required security clearance requirement and comply with Drug Free Workplace policy. Adhere to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operations procedures. Adhere to Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP). Adhere to the safety and health program that complies with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(s), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental, and health requirements. Maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) in accordance with Appendix A, EM 385-1-1. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Required: Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information. Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure. Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. Must have experience as a cashier. Must complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 30 days of employment. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.). EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: High school education or GED. Experience using the ALOHA point of sale system preferred.
